Basil bee balm
(Monarda clinopodia)
aka white bergamot. An all-white white Monada in our area will be this species, although it occasionally has light purple spots on the petals. It is best identified by the clearly petioled (stemmed) leaves, unlike those of M. russeliana and M. bradburniana. Bergamot, M. fistulosa, may have some white flowers, but most will be pink, red, or purple. Lanceolate leaves of this plant are opposite, petioled, and toothed. MC (Lamiaceae)
