Silky aster
(Symphyotrichum pratense)

Formerly Aster sericus; also Aster phyllolepsis. A rare species of barrens and limestone glades. Hairy leaves are much thinner than those of the similar New England Aster; plants stand to two feet, frequently branching. Found on Flint Ridge Rd in Mammoth Cave NP. MC (Asteraceae)
