Wood-nettle

This stinging plant is widespread in wet woods and river bottoms. It is easily separated from nettles in the genus Urtica dioica by its alternate branching. Urtica is opposite. Upper male flowers drop pollen on separate female flowers below them. MC (Urticaceae)
