Common blue violet
(Viola sororia)

Formerly Viola papilionacea. aka dooryard violet. Our most common violet, found in lawns, meadows and open woods. Two side petals are bearded, the lower three are striped. The lowest center petal is slightly longer than the ones on either side of it. MC
