Slender toothwort
(Cardamine angustata)
Formerly Dentaria heterophylla. aka Appalachian toothwort. Our four common members of this genus are told by examination of the leaves. This species has two long-stemmed basal leaves, which are distinctly divided into three pointed segments. Basal leaves may overwinter and may be purple underneath. It also has two very different stem leaves which are three-parted, narrow, and toothed. Flowers may be white or pink. One of our earliest spring flowers. MC (Brassicaceae)
