Forest sunflower
(Helianthus decapetalus)

aka thin-leaved sunflower. This sunflower is identified by a combination of smooth stems and characteristically flaring, winged petioles. Lower and mid-stem leaves are opposite; upper leaves may be alternate or opposite. Phyllaries, green bracts under the petals, are thin and pointed.  MC (Asteraceae)
