Mock strawberry
(Potentilla indica)

Formerly Duchesnea indica. AKA Indian strawberry. Leaves of this Asian species are very similar to those of our native wild strawberry, Fragaria virginiana. Close examination will reveal a short vine with three-parted compound leaves. Commonly found in lawns and disturbed areas; yellow petals alternate with pointed green sepals. MC (Rosaceae)
