Spanish needles

aka beggar-lice. A common late-summer flower, found in fields and disturbed areas. Stands to three feet, with highly dissected leaves and small, yellow, long-stemmed flowers. Flowers may have 3 or 4 rays, but often have none. MC (Asteraceae)
