Hairy skullcap
(Scutellaria elliptica)

aka erect skullcap. This common species has opposite leaves and a square stem, like all mints. Stems are covered with fine hairs. Leaves are oval, with wide, shallow teeth.
Lower leaves may be somewhat heart-shaped. Flowers of this species are pale to bright blue all over; those of Scutellaria incana have distinct white tubes with blue lobes. Some recent sources consider S. elliptica and S. incana to be one species.     MC (Lamiaceae)
