aka catbrier; glaucous greenbrier. One of several common Smilax species; this one forms thickets of vines in dry woods. Easily distinguished by the white undersides of its leaves. Stems are wiry, not angled and many-branched, as in S. rotundifolia. MC (Smilacaceae)
