Prairie dock

aka cut-leaf prairie dock, cut-leaf rosinweed. This uncommon plant grows to nine feet tall, with a smooth, nearly leafless stem. Ray flowers (petals) have individual, forked styles; recurved sepals are typical of this genus. First-year rosettes of basal leaves appear among older plants; older, rough basal leaves are deeply lobed, growing to over two feet long. MC (Asteraceae)
