Loose milkwort
(Polygala ambigua)

This is the less common of our two milkworts. The other, P. verticillata, has leaves whorled all the way up the stem. This species has whorled lower leaves and alternate upper leaves. Small flowers are white, sometimes tinged pink or green; leaves are thin and grasslike. (Polygalaceae)
