Formerly Polygonum persicaria. This common Eurasian species is widespread in waste areas. Leaves are stemless and pointed, often with a darker "smudge" mark. Plants are prostrate; lacking fringes on ocreae (small sheaths on stem nodes.) MC (Polygonaceae)
