Orange-fruited horse-gentian
(Triosteum aurantiacum)
AKA red horse-gentian, or red-fruited horse-gentian. Rare locally, known in our area from a few stems in Cedar Sink at Mammoth Cave. Flowers are red, unlike the yellow flowers of yellow horse-gentian, A. angustifolium. This species may have tapered, petioled (stemmed) or partially perfoliate/clasping leaves, and it lacks the bristled flower parts of A. angustifolium. MC (Caprifoliaceae)
