Forest goldenrod
(Solidago arguta)

aka sharp-leaved or cut-leaved goldenrod. Leaves are chiefly basal, persisting through the flowering period. Leaves are sharply double-toothed, pointed, and wing-stemmed. Flowers bear 5 to 8 rays. Stems are smooth and may be red. Uncommon woodland plants, standing 2 to 5 feet tall. MC (Asteraceae)
