Maryland golden-aster
(Chrysopsis mariana)

This southeastern U.S. species is uncommon to rare in Kentucky. Found in waste places and roadsides. Stems and leaves are hairy. Separated from plants in the genus Heterotheca by the presence of a pappus on the ray flowers (petals). (Asteraceae)
