Northern catalpa
(Catalpa speciosa)

Although not native to central Kentucky, this tree's original range includes the western part of the state. It has been widely planted and is occasionally naturalized. Distinguished from the the very similar southern catalpa, C. bignoidioides, by it's obviously pointed leaves and fewer, larger flowers. (Bignoniaceae)
