Rough buttonweed
(Hexasepalum teres)

Formerly Diodia teres. Opposite leaves on an upright twenty- to thirty-inch stem, with bristles and pale purple flowers in the axils. Similar D. virginiana is prostrate, with white flowers. Common in open fields in late summer. MC  (Rubiaceae)
