Panicled aster
(Symphyotrichum lanceolatum)

AKA Eastern lined aster. Formerly Aster lanceolatus and Aster simplex. Leaves are willowlike, with few or no teeth. Flowers are interspersed with stem leaves, with 20 to 40 rays per flower. Prefers damp open ground and wet woods. (Asteraceae)
