Ontario aster
(Symphyotrichum ontarione)
Formerly Aster Ontarionis. This colonial species is often found in clumps; the 9 to 15 rays are somewhat recurved, making the yellow-orange centers and their parts more evident. Lower leaves are not thin and grass-like, as in some other similar species. Axillary leaves sprout along the stem; these are more round than linear, while maintaining their pointed tips.
