Downy false foxglove
(Aureolaria virginica)

Formerly Gerardia virginica. aka downy Aureolaria. This species is differentiated by the similar species, A. flava, by its downy stem and leaves, and by its lobed, but not deeply cleft, lower leaves. Flower buds are bulbous;open flowers often show brown discoloration. MC (Scrophulariaceae)
